The railway line is always an interesting walk or cycle as it changes so much with the seasons. We set out from Dinnet, weather overcast and spitting but we thought we would risk it. The first part is always bit of a drag, except when the heather is out but once we reached the bridge at Cambus O' May the path was looking very spring like. From the bridge we watched a shoal of at least half a dozen small fish?trout jumping for flies. The path was edged with primroses violets and sorrel and geans(wild cherries) were beautiful.
It is good to see that access has been made to Tullich churchyard from the path. Its very interesting place but was quite hard to get to before they put in the gates.
Once we got to the white bridge beyond Ballater we stopped as usual for a break. It was quite quiet except for the oystercatchers and we saw a dipper flying up stream. Then it was back through the Pass and back to Dinnet.
